As we set upon our process to reopen schools, our sincere hope was that we would be able to create a plan that met the needs and desires of our community.

Last night the Board gave unanimous support to the plan that is attached below. This plan is over 25 pages and still does not adequately capture all of the complexities and logistical decisions that need to be made in the coming weeks.

Over the past several months we have asked your opinion in a variety of ways on a variety of subjects. We have attempted to be thoughtful in our approach and your feedback has certainly guided our efforts.

In early June, we (a few Meridian CUSD 223 Leadership Team members) were contacted by a parent group asking for support in helping to fight racism in our communities and within our schools.

As you know, over the past few months we have attempted to be communicative and collaborative throughout the process of evolving our schools to meet the new demands created as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic.

This document provides answers to frequently asked questions related to the ISBE-provided SAT with Essay test administration scheduled for fall 2020. This document will be updated as needed.

At this link below you will find the results of the parent and student survey sent out requesting information on our community's thoughts on how we should attempt to start school in the fall knowing what we did a few weeks ago.

As has been shared previously the district has decided to provide meals through June in an effort to help support our community. Given the need for refrigeration during the summer months, the pick-ups will be limited to the Davis Park Fire Station and Stillman Valley High School.

The Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE) compiled the following recommendations for families to understand how to support students during the mandatory suspension of in-person instruction.
